Adolescent training at Raigad District

Since 2022, 18 adolescent groups have been participating in a two-year preventive health care training program organized and implemented by the Health Promotion Trust in Raigad District. The training sessions are facilitated by HPT health workers who have received training and guidance from HPT on various health care topics. To promote traditional nutritional dietary practices, healthy snacks are provided to the girls during each program. 

The training covers a range of topics, including: 

1. Menstrual health care and hygiene

 2. Superstitious practices affecting health care 

3. Health and hygiene 

4. Understanding physiology for optimal health 

5. Healthy and traditional dietary practices 

6. Nutritional dietary practices addressing adolescent health care issues 

7. Kitchen gardening and its environmental and health benefits 

8. Benefits and uses of medicinal plants 

9. Social discrimination and its effects on the health of the girl child 

10. HIV/AIDS 

11. Common ailments and their herbal and home remedies 

12. Physiological changes during adolescence 

13. Yoga and pranayama 

14. Acupressure and mudras 

15. Demonstration of herbal and home remedies 

16. Seasonal diseases
